Thomas Edison once said, “Good fortune is what happens when opportunity meets with planning”. The ADR Cell of the University School of Law and Legal Studies organised its maiden Indraprastha Intra Mediation Competition named “Madhyastha 1.0” on 3rd and 4th December 2021. The event began with an inauguration session 3rd December with the presence of the Hon’ble Dean of the University School of Law and Legal Studies, Prof. Amar Pal Singh, which was followed by the Preliminary and the Quarter Final Rounds. The competition included four rounds, namely Preliminary Round, Quarter Final, Semi-Final and Final Rounds, and the event witnessed an active participation of over eighty plus students. The mega two-day event witnessed the gracious presence of esteemed legal luminaries like Retd. ADJ (Delhi) Mr. R.P. Pandey, Adv. Mr. Anil Sethi, Adv. Mr. Syed Tamjeed Ahmed and Adv. Amish Aggarwal for the final round that was held on the 4th of December. All teams comprised first-year students of USLLS, who ensured the event’s success by displaying enthusiastic mediation skills. Finally, in the award ceremony held on 4th December, Jasleen Bedi was awarded the title of “Best Mediator”, while Anushka Paliwal along with Ashutosh Kumar secured the title of “Best Negotiating Pair”. Further, Sadhvi Sinha bagged the title of “Runner-Up Mediator”, whereas Kanaksha Kataria along with Dev Maheshwari, upheld the title of “Runner-Up Negotiating Pair”.
